4 Common Kitchen Plumbing Repairs
A clogged drain.
When you fill your sink with water and then pull out the stopper, does that water drain out pretty quickly—or is the draining process almost painfully slow? If your kitchen sink doesn’t drain efficiently then you may need to have the drain cleaned. You can try flushing it out yourself with some vinegar or simply some boiling water, but if this does not work then you will need to call for a professional drain cleaning.
Dishwasher issues.
There are two basic problems that you might have with your dishwasher. The first is when you have a leaky dishwasher, which likely means that either the door to the dishwasher or simply one of the hoses has come loose. The other issue is that your dishwasher is noisy when it runs. Now, dishwashers are always a little noisy, but loud thumping sounds are problematic. For either issue, call a plumber to have it addressed.
A leaky faucet.
Another common kitchen issue is a faucet that just won’t stop leaking—which is not only annoying, but in the long run quite wasteful. You might be able to tighten up the fixture on your own, but sometimes you’ll need to call in a pro.
Garburator issues.
Finally, there are all manner of garburator issues that can impact a kitchen, ranging from foul odors to a unit that simply stops working. Once again, you can try to clean out the unit yourself with some vinegar, or to flush it clean with some water, but you’ll want to call a professional plumber if the issue proves to be more serious.
